bbc-workers -- Camp workers list

About bbc-workers
English (USA)

Welcome to bbc-workers. This is the mailing list for the discussion and planning of the British Bible Camp at Hill End, Oxfordshire.

This list is for all camp workers. All emails sent to the address bbc-workers@biblecamp.org.uk are automatically sent to everyone subscribed to the list. These emails are also automatically archived. This archive can only be viewed by those subscribed to the list (though there is an option to make it public if we so desire), each of whom are issued a password when they subscribe. Anyone can subscribe, though any abuse of the list from spammers etc. could easily be blocked.

If you reply to a mailing list email and you do not intend everyone to see your reply, PLEASE remember to remove bbc-workers@biblecamp.org.uk from the "To:" field and replace it with the appropriate address(es). This happens because a "reply-to" header is added to each email sent via the mailing list. This means that when you click "reply" to answer a list email, your reply will not be addressed to the sender's email address, but instead to bbc-workers@biblecamp.org.uk (i.e. the sender will still get it, but so will everyone else). I've set it this way, because otherwise you would have to click "reply all" each time you want your reply sent to the whole list, and not just the original sender. The problem with using the "reply all" button is: firstly, that you have to remember to do it each time, and secondly that the original sender of the email would get two copies of your reply (one sent direct, the other sent via the mailing list), which gets annoying.

If you would like any changes to the way the mailing list operates, remember that we have quite a large degree of control over the software as it has a lot of configuration options. Just send an email over the list letting me know and I can change things quickly if there is a general feeling of agreement with your request.

The mailing list is run by a piece of free software (free as in freedom) called Mailman.
